GAMMA PHI DELTA SORORITY, INCORPORATED

Gamma Phi Delta Sorority, Incorporated was founded in February 1943, by the late Elizabeth Garner, 
teacher and the late Violet T. Lewis, owner of Lewis Business College, Detroit, Michigan. 
The founders, along with the other eleven members are known as the Sorority's 13 Original Pearls.
Each of the teachers pledged to organize a chapter of the Sorority in her home city.

Gamma Phi Delta Sorority, Incorporated open by invitation to women  in all professions, business related positions and vocationally trained occupations; in addition, young women who are still pursuing their educational goals as undergraduates.

Organized exclusively for charitable, religious, educational, and scientific purposes, including, for such purposes, the making of distributions to organizations that qualify as exempt organizations described under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, or corresponding section of any future federal tax code.
